The Snowman

You are going to watch the classic cartoon The Snowman. It is from 1982, long before you were born. Perhaps you saw it when you were a little kid.

There is almost no talking in this movie, but it is still very easy to follow the story.

Part 1: What happen in the story?

Write down at least 30 things that happen in the story while you watch it. The sentences can be simple. You can use these notes for the next part of the exercise.

Examples:

Answer these questions about the story. Answer in full sentences and explain your choices.

Why does the snowman climb into the freezer?
What do they see when they are flying through the air?
What is the song about?
What is going on in the forest?
What does James get from Santa?
Why is James sad the next morning? How would you feel?
Give the story a mark between 1 and 10 and explain your choice.

Part 3: Christmas and you.

Answer these questions about yourself. Answer in full sentences and explain your choices.

What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
What is your favourite Christmas song?
What is your favourite Christmas movie?
What is your favourite Christmas food?
What does your perfect Christmas day look like? Use about 50 words to describe it.

Part 4: A magical Christmas night.

Write a story (175 words) about a magical Christmas night. The story starts like this:
